Economic Dispatch- A Comprehensive Survey

Abstract

This paper reviews the existing developments in Economic Dispatch(ED) problems considering prohibited operating zones, ramp rate limits, capacity limits and power balance constraints. Two very important and related areas of economic dispatch are identified and papers published in the area of economic dispatch are classified in to (i) Economic Dispatch and (ii) Security Constrained Economic Dispatch problems. The author covers various soft computing techniques to address the issues in the area of economic dispatch problems.
